Monkey Love

When we moved into our house, out fireplace was labeled "non-functioning". Turned out all it needed was a chimney cap (the hole was covered with a lead sheet) and to be re-tuckpointed. Well, as anyone with a brick home knows, tuckpointing can be crazy expensive. Lucky for me, the Mr. can do anything.

{Insert imaginary cute picture of a hot guy holding a trowel and smiling}

He located a cap to fit our chimney top and he tuckpointed the firebox. Ta-Da!

We now have  working fireplace and Gidget is loving it!

That's awesome!

We have a gas fireplace, and it hasn't worked for about 4 years!

Awww... how cute. I think my dogs would love laying next to the fire. I really want to try out our fireplace, but the last owner's kids stuck some toys way down in the gas logs, so that we can just barely see them, and we aren't sure how to get them out. (Not that we've really tried, yet, but still...)

Lucky you!! That is the one thing I miss about my rental...the wood burning fireplace!

Gidget is so cute!! The look on her face, being near that fireplace, is so adorable! :)

Oh my gosh. This is so adorable. I'm a little scared to see what the pugs do with the fireplace at the new house. I'm hoping them just get near it and don't hurt themselves.

I have no idea what tuckpointing means, but that sure looks like a cozy fire! Gidget is so cute - my sister has a dog that looks very similar! I'll have to make sure she sees this.

My sister sent me your blog b/c your dog Gidget looks almost exactly like our dog Bailey! Our Bailey loves to lay in front of the space heater, so I'm sure she would love a warm fireplace too (too bad we don't use ours). So cute!
