Fabric Question.

Can I wash Dry Clean Only 100% cotton fabric? Like if I want to make my cafe curtains out of this:

But it says:
  • 100% Cotton
  • Dry Clean, Do Not Wash
Can I wash it? On delicate? In cold water?

hmmm, I would say yes...but then again I'm not very good with the wash. So I hope someone has an answer for you :) good luck!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower.

As someone with just a tiny bit of sewing experience but a lot of experience with fabric shrinking. I think I would probably recommend dry cleaning. Since your plan is for curtains, you shouldn't have to dry clean them often. Sometimes I'll put dry clean only items in the dryer on air fluff to get rid of odors and freshen them up.

I hope that helps.

Hmm I'm horrible with laundry and many, many times have thrown things into the wash that I later realize said DRY CLEAN ONLY. Everything normally comes out fine, ie no shrinking, but sometimes it comes out a bit faded.

Since you probably won't be washing them alot I agree that I would either take them to the cleaners or dryell them at home.

I say wash it on cold before you turn it into curtains and maybe don't dry? And definitely don't dry after it's been transformed into cafe curtains.
