God's Country

We went for a little ride on Sunday with our friend, Dan (also known to the macho biker guys as Redman).
Check out that sexy mullet! This was Halloween last year, but is not Halloween hair.

He took us on two ferries and through the hills of western(?) Illinois. (Whatever's directly to the east of St. Charles, Missouri. I know, geography and direction are not my strong points.) I wish I could get up the nerve to take photos while on the bike. I did get drunk brave enough to try it on the way home from the Thursday Night Ride this past week.

I forgot to turn off the flash and Mister freaked out! Probably a good way to wreck the bike. Whoopsie. I just thought our shadow from the streetlights looked so awesome, kinda like this:

But in silhouette and, um, not so stereotypically "bikerey".  Oh, and with a passenger. This guy is too cool for a passenger, though; it would totes ruin his bad-ass biker appeal to have to cart around his old lady.... Check it, there's not even room for that biatch. That'll teach her to ask if she can come along...

Anyway, some pics of the islands in the Mississippi (I think) and the river:

I want to live in that house up on the hill.

It was such a perfect day.

This adorable little farmhouse was at the entrance to the ferry. Can you imagine having people parked outside you house from 9am to 9pm all day? Ick.

The fungus among us

Check out this gnarly fungus growing on our house...

And before you all start thinking we totally neglect our house let me tell you, this shit was not here yesterday. This is right next to where I park my truck everyday, I definitely would have seen it. Crazy.

Fashion Friday

Ridiculous? Or ridiculously awesome? You decide.

I am not usually one for "strange" shoes, but I am totally in love with the 'Wildcat Wedge', the 'Butterfly Love', and the 'School of Architecture! The 'Butterfly Love' remind me of Rainbow Bright and Punky Brewster! LUUUURRVE!

Weekend Excitement

This weekend I didn't leave the house for two days! I finally finished painting our bedroom! Yay! I really don't understand how everyone else knocks out these massive projects in a day or two. Wheew... I still haven't found bedside tables or lamps, but the painting is DONE! Here's a sneak peek of the yummy color:

The drapes were originally hanging on those cheap, yucky metal bars that always seem to be in older homes... Now they are too short.

I should probably vacuum up the drill dust, eh?

Luckily I never hemmed them! They are just pinned, since I knew I was going to change out the rods eventually.

On Monday we went to the Gypsy Caravan. They call it an "antique, craft, and flea market", but really it was like a big garage sale. There was some good stuff, but most of the "good stuff" was priced out of my range. Just a taste of what we saw:

It was insanely, crazy busy and I am not a big fan of crowds. Plus, it was about a zillion degrees! My sunscreen crapped out, but only half of it, so I am red and splotchy on the back of my neck and the  left side of my chest... I made a big stink about how I won't go next year, but we all know that's not gonna happen! LOL I'll just have to be better prepared. Extra sunscreen, hat, breezy dress, comfy shoes, etc. My new fab jeans from the Gap were too tight (with the humidity) and I was miserable... Plus my lovely Cynthia Vincent flat gladiators from last year didn't have enough padding apparently and my feet still hurt!
